ICANN Representative Meets with .UZ Domain Administration During Visit to Uzbekistan
As part of her visit to Uzbekistan, Seher Sagiroglu, ICANN’s Stakeholder Engagement Manager for the Middle East and Central Asia, met with representatives of the .UZ Domain Administration to discuss ongoing cooperation and future initiatives.

Key topics included the deployment of an L-Root server in Uzbekistan, the development and adoption of DNSSEC, and other technical and administrative matters.
Hosting an L-Root server in Uzbekistan would improve the reliability and resilience of the country’s DNS infrastructure, reduce network latency when accessing root DNS servers, and strengthen the stability of the national internet infrastructure.
The meeting also covered opportunities for the .UZ Domain Administration to become more involved in ICANN’s activities, including international initiatives and working groups.
Seher Sagiroglu shared updates on ICANN’s future plans and new programs designed to build technical capacity and strengthen ties with the regional DNS community.
The meeting was another step towards closer cooperation between the .UZ Domain Administration and ICANN, opening up new opportunities for joint technical initiatives.
